BIOGRAPHY
Maria Tirotta was born in Pompeii (Naples) on February 3, 1987. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples specializing in graphic art. In the National Award of the Arts competition, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, she won a print run of 40 Arabic numerals and a second print run of 40 Roman numerals with the work : “... and I start again”. She also worked alongside the teacher Angela Vinciguerra in various educational workshops in the elementary school of Buccino (SA).
She’s done workshops at the Academy of fine arts in Naples to learn more about engraving and making handmade paper with Carlos Perez and Maria Reina Salas, two engraving and drawing teachers from Salamanca’s Academy.
She won the prize as 2nd classified at the 3rd edition of the National Award for Young Engravers "Gino Carrera" in Casalpusterlengo (MI) with a circulation of 20 copies. She won also the prize as 1st classified in the Graphics section for the exhibition Rotary Meet Contemporary Art in the Academy.
She won as 1st classified in the Carnello Carte ad Arte competition at Sora (FR) with a circulation of 80 copies. On the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to Flaminia Bosco Y Pimentel Fonseca made a print run of 30 copies and 10 artist proofs.
She then took part in the Making paper and making book workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino.
She won the National Arts Award, for the Graphic section, organized by the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari and held at the Margherita Theater and the Murat Room.
Bruno Starita wins the First Biennial Engraving Award as 3rd place at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. She supports the teacher Angela Vinciguerra in workshops with groups of children that are held every year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. In 2017 she joined the artist

Hector Felix Rodriguez in the 100x100 natural fiber workshop, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. From her engraving activity, from 2009 to 2019 she held the role of expert on the subject for the chair of Graphic of Art, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. She worked as a teacher of handwriting and communication at the IIS Della Corte Vanvitelli school in the year 2016/2017. She worked as a teacher of Graphics and Production Processes at the IIS Della Corte Vanvitelli school in the year 2017/2018. She worked as a teacher of Art and Image at the IIC Samuele Falco school in Scafati (Sa).
Professor of direct chalcographic techniques, in the project "Today we build the future" Graphic Arts: young artistic creativity and local development in 2018/2019 pilot intervention developed on the basis of the agreement between the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples and the Campania Region. In February 2020 she installed her sculpture in the Carlo Maresca Via Caravaggio gardens in Pescara, after winning the selection.
Now She is a Laboratory Technician in the Art Graphics course and a full time artist alongside the teacher Angela Vinciguerra, coordinator of the ABANA School of Art Graphics, an artist too, collaborating with her.
